LEGAL & PRIVACY
Privacy &
Cookie Policy.
We respect your privacy and handle your personal information carefully, fairly and transparently.
OVERVIEW
Who we are and what this policy covers
Kings & Clean provides domestic, deep, end-of-tenancy, Airbnb and commercial cleaning services across Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding Essex area.
This policy explains how we collect and use personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, contact us, make or manage a booking, receive our services, deal with us as a supplier or raise a complaint.
For UK data-protection purposes, Kings & Clean is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. This means we decide why and how that information is used.
INFORMATION WE USE
What we collect and why
If we need to know about an allergy, health-related product restriction or another sensitive matter to provide the service safely, give us only the information that is necessary. We will handle it with additional care and use it only for that purpose.
SOURCES
How we receive your information
We usually receive information directly from you through our website, email, telephone, WhatsApp, social media or in person. We may also receive booking information from an authorised landlord, letting agent, Airbnb host, business contact or another person arranging a service for you.
If someone gives us another person’s details, they should have authority to do so and should make this policy available to that person.
SHARING & PROCESSORS
Who may receive your information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where reasonably necessary, including with:
- authorised Kings & Clean team members who need the information to deliver or manage your service;
- website, email, cloud-storage, communications and IT providers, including Squarespace and WhatsApp/Meta where you choose those services;
- payment, bookkeeping, accounting and professional advisers used to run the business;
- specialist subcontractors where agreed or reasonably required for a booked service;
- law enforcement, regulators, courts, insurers or advisers where required by law or needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
- a buyer or successor if the business is reorganised, transferred or sold, subject to appropriate confidentiality.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards, we rely on an approved adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual protections.
RETENTION
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including legal, accounting, safety and dispute requirements. Our normal guide is:
We may keep information for a shorter or longer period where appropriate, for example when required by law, a dispute is ongoing or records are no longer needed.
SECURITY
How we protect information
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Access is limited to people who reasonably need it for their role.
No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal-data breach creates a legal reporting obligation, we will notify the relevant authority and affected people as required.
YOUR RIGHTS
Your data-protection choices
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete information;
- ask us to restrict how information is used;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;

You have the right to object to direct marketing at any time. You may also object to other processing based on legitimate interests. Contact hello@kingsandclean.co.uk.
These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. We may ask for information to verify your identity before acting on a request. We normally respond within one month unless the law allows more time.
OTHER SERVICES
External links and communications
Our website may link to services such as WhatsApp, Google Maps or social-media platforms. Those organisations control their own processing when you use their services. Review their privacy information before providing personal data.
Please avoid sending confidential information through social-media comments or other public channels.
COMPLAINTS
How to raise a data-protection complaint
If you are concerned about how we have handled personal information, email hello@kingsandclean.co.uk with the subject “Data Protection Complaint”, or write to Kings & Clean at the address shown on this page.
Please explain what happened, which information is involved, what outcome you are seeking and provide relevant supporting material. We may need to verify your identity or authority to act for someone else.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, but this does not affect your right to contact the ICO through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or telephone 0303 123 1113.
UPDATES
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, website, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Material changes may also be brought to your attention directly where appropriate.
